The Courtyard was last and we were immediately impressed As impressive as the first impression of the facility, their staff is what swayed us. One month in, the staff especially’ Christina and Sereana, have impressed me with their communication, professionalism, and passion for patient care.. living out of state, I am so happy with our decision. Our family is incredibly grateful for the compassionate care, respect, and warm home environment that the staff at The Courtyard provide every day.
While there are far too many wonderful team members to mention individually, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to Memory Care Director Serrenea Toops and caregivers Gloria Street and Taneshia Haskins.
Whenever our family has concerns or questions, Serrenea responds promptly, listens with empathy, validates our concerns, and addresses issues with exceptional professionalism. What impresses me most is that despite her leadership role, she never hesitates to step in and assist residents and caregivers whenever needed.
Gloria has a heart of gold and exemplifies the very best of caregiving. Her compassion, patience, and dedication to the residents are evident in everything she does. She is truly outstanding at what she does.
Taneshia genuinely cares about the residents, brings positivity and laughter to their day, and has been an excellent communicator with our family. Her kindness and attentiveness have meant a great deal to us.
Entrusting the care of aging parents to others is one of the hardest decisions a family can make. The Courtyard has given me peace of mind knowing that both of my parents are safe, cared for, and treated with dignity and compassion. For that, I will always be grateful. Posted on Google 
Leah McCullough September 18, 2026 Our family really appreciate the care and nurturing environment that is provided for my mother-in-law at The Courtyard. From the front desk staff like Irene and Melanie, the front office people like Julie, to the servers like Katie and Erika, to the nurses like Jim, Stephanie and Holly, to the aides that do literally the heavy lifting like Marcia and Nancy - we appreciate them all. There are more than this, but this is all the names I can remember - so I think that says a lot! They have a really good crew working there and the facility is beautiful.
***Update*** My mother-in-law has been in the assisted living wing for several years now. Most of the same people are still there caring for her. Two of the aids, Leonard and Jim, are her favorites. Serrenea made the transition for my mom to memory care so much easier on all of us, and has been a constant source of support. Her calm, happy demeanor instantly makes us all feel better. Tammy and Irene at the front desk are now familiar welcoming faces and are always willing to answer my questions. Alex has been fantastic with the logistics and transportation to get my dad to his medical appointments. All the nurses are great, but my parents definitely mention Chris, Matt, Bobby, and Courtney over and over again. I have appreciated Rose's nursing expertise in more than one medical situation and, as I have told her, I have come to think "oh good, Rose is taking care of him/her today" on many days! The aides provide consistent personal care and my dad would likely adopt Ashley if he could! Emily is a gem in activities and is always coming up with fun things for residents to do. Julie is ALWAYS helpful when i need help figuring something out that is not normal The nurses, Holly, Vicky and Amber are very patient with my mother which can be challenging sometimes. I rest at night knowing she is safe and well taken care of.
Tammy (receptionist) is always a joy when you walk in. She is always smiling an eager to help when needed. She get things done and takes charge.....
I highly recommend the Courtyard. From the moment I met Julie to tour the property and compete the paperwork until recently moving her in from out of state has been an incredible experience. They truly care about the experience for the family and the resident. The place is beautiful and well maintained. The entire staff is incredible no matter who you are dealing with. Tamera Geesling June 10, 2026 If you are looking for a Memory Care facility for your loved one, I highly recommend The Courtyard at Centerville. Julie was wonderful to work with during the initial placement and helping with my mom’s transition. The facilities are beautiful, well-maintained, and I only wish I could have convinced my mom to move into the Assisted Living section prior to the need for Memory Care. If you have started the journey of caring for a loved one with dementia, you understand how important it is to find the best fit for their care when they are no longer to safely live on their own.
Serrenea Toops, Memory Care Director, is beyond amazing at her job and has assembled the best team you can imagine. She goes above and beyond to make sure the residents have tons of activities to join and has a special knack for encouraging even the most-reluctant resident to participate! Don’t just take my word for it, check out their Facebook page – they update frequently with pictures of the activities and you can see how much time and care goes into the planning and how much they are enjoyed.
The nurses and aides are all compassionate and caring and always made time for me when I needed an update on my mom’s care - thank you to each and every one of you! I truly felt that they knew my mom as a person, not just a resident. Dementia is a difficult journey, but Serrenea and her team helped me navigate it confidently, provided my mom with the best care possible, and I can’t imagine doing it without them. Posted on Google

The staff is wonderful, from the marketing personnel to the nursing and caregiving staff. Everyone has made my parents feel loved and cared for. I am confident that they care for them as I would. My father passed away in early November. Special thanks go to Chris, Kara, Kayla and Danesha for their exceptional support during his last days. Marcia Venus February 18, 2025 My husband was in Memory Care at Courtyard at Centerville. I want to commend the Memory Care staff who were all so kind to him and to me. His death in December was a result of his Alzheimer’s and was expected. I want to particularly commend the care given to him by caregiver Kayla Horton. Kayla only works weekends but every weekend she was so attentive to him and to me and almost made it feel like coming home when I went in to be with him. All the nurses and nurse aids gave him excellent care but Kayla was special. Posted on Google

My mother has lived at Courtyard of Centerville for over four years. The nurses and caregivers are excellent with her. She is aging now and requires much more assistance in all daily needs. The management team of Anastasia, Courtney, and Kiley quickly and efficiently meant with me to develop a new and better care plan to best serve my mom. All three ladies were professional, knowledgeable, and empathetic to my mom’s new situation. Together, we created a new plan for my mom to continue to be safe and happy. Gregory James January 3, 2025 Great community! My mother in law has lived in the assisted living wing since Nov 2020. It was a hard decision to move her during the time of COVID. We are so happy we did. A lot of her favorite nurses are still here. She raves about the laundry aide, loves BINGO, and we enjoy attending all the special parties for families. Sara Trask December 12, 2024 In 2023, Kiley and Julie were a phenomenal team in the smooth transition of my mother to Courtyard. They provided answers to a variety of questions, and even scheduled a FaceTime tour, since she was currently living out of state. The care and compassion given were evident before we even arrived to her new home.
Mom came as a new widow to an independent living environment of meeting friends, some with similar life scenarios. She quickly became aware of the opportunities for involvement within Courtyard’s beautiful living space, filled with comfort and encouragement.
As daughter of a resident, I appreciate the genuine care and helpfulness of each staff member. Irene and Melanie have a sincere knack for the expanded duties at the front desk area. And what would mom do without Ryan to quickly tend to her occasional need for room assistance or help to hang a shelf? Emily is certain to offer a calendar filled with activity, to keep the residents occupied with choices. Thank you, Courtyard! She has been truly great to work with and, unfortunately for her (😂), my go-to person when it comes to medical things relating to my father-in-law! She is awesome!
